Julia has recently joined the Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Learning and Development as the Coordinator of Services. Before returning home to ETSU, she worked for many years in a variety of early childhood efforts in Wisconsin. She is the former State Head Start Collaboration Coordinator and directed many training and technical assistance efforts for Head Start and other early childhood programs. Her most recent work in Wisconsin included supporting the development of a coordinated system of professional development for early childhood initiatives. The core of her work has been with the Portage Project, a family centered program for young children and their families. Through her work with the Portage Project, she has had the opportunity to meet early childhood experts in this country and abroad and to share a commitment to quality programs for young children. She is looking forward to being a part of the pre-service and in-service early childhood professional development supported by the Center.
