CCAMPIS

Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) is a federal grant through the US Dept. of Education that supports Pell Grant-eligible, low-income students in completing their secondary education. It was awarded to ETSU in 2005 and is a 4-year grant. ETSU is using about 75% of funds to provide a sliding fee scale that reduces student-families' child care costs for their children enrolled in our campus child care centers - Child Study Center or Little Buccaneers Student Child Care Center. The CCAMPIS grant also supports 2 Graduate Assistants, one for each of the campus children's centers, in the role of a Family Support Specialist. This Family Support Specialist offers assistance to the programs' families in any way that facilitates their successful experiences not only in their academic classes but in the lives of their family and children.
