Dear Readers,
Here is our first newsletter! We are very excited to have a way we can get information to you. We will be publishing it three times a year; each fall and spring with our orientation schedule and one during the summer to catch up on new information.

I have been with the Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance since it started in 1993. I have seen many good changes in childcare and I am still seeing them! I have seen many people get their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees through TECTA. The children of East Tennessee are better cared for because these students made the effort to go to class and gain the professionalism that they need to care for young children.

As for me, my name is Marilyn Buchanan. I am the Coordinator for TECTA. I live in Jonesborough with my husband Curtis, my two daughters Summer and Maria and my mother Elizabeth Evans. I love my job. My name is Mindy Davis. I have worked with TECTA since October 2002. My office is located on the Walters State campus in Morristown. Although my office site is part of the ETSU-TECTA office, I mainly work with 8 counties surrounding this community college. I do travel a lot but I enjoy seeing parts of east Tennessee that I learned about while growing up in Johnson City. I can be reached at 423-585-2606 or davismr@etsu.edu.

I am Ginger Wright, new to the ETSU-TECTA family having only been here seven months. I am from Johnson City and greatly enjoy working with all the local centers in my seven county area. Hello everyone, I am Belverly Ollis. I began with ETSU-TECTA in August 2006. I am originally from Mississippi and moved to Johnson City to pursue my Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Teaching PreK-4th at ETSU. My current position with TECTA affords me the opportunity to discover how wonderful and exciting it is for students to be empowered as they achieve successful goals and provide lifelong learning for children.
